I lost my key in February and had to have a new key made/programmed. The original key was found but then I lost the "new" key shortly after. My husband tried to start my vehicle with the original key but it didn't work. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership to have the original key re-programmed. I was told it would cost $170.00 to do so. When I picked up my vehicle the technician advised me they did not have to reprogram the key, that the anti-theft system was activated so they had to deactivate it. However, that cost the same amount as if they would have reprogrammed the key. I was not happy about that. If I had known that was the issue, I'm sure I could have googled or went on YouTube and did it myself.
